Quick Reviews: Moonwalkers

After a bad Sci-Fi Film on the Moon, how about a Film about people trying to FAKE footage of people on the Moon?  Why not?
This guy- Rupert Grint- is in trouble with the Mob over some money and is desperate!
This man- Ron Perlman- is a CIA Man haunted by his past.  He's sent to hire Stanley Kubrick to shoot footage of a fake moon landing in case things go wrong.
The two meet and the former takes the money from the latter under false pretenses.  This won't end well!
Perlman learns of the ruse and tracks our Hero down no matter what the cost.
When the two meet, Perlman is understandably angry.  What is going to happen next?
Why they decide to make their own Footage instead- Kubrick be damned!

Will they succeed or will their recent activities have consequences?  Will the Footage even be necessary?  To find out, watch the Film.
Fun stuff.  The Story is pretty simple, but has enough twists and turns to keep things interesting.  It continues to keep things moving and to give our Characters obstacles to overcome.  The contrast between Rupert Grint and Ron Perlman here really works.  They don't get along, but why would they?  As the Story progresses, things change...but not unrealistically-so.  What the Film does well is play with History enough to seem somewhat-realistic, but also not to go too far.  It deals with the whole 'Moon Landing was faked' thing without being ridiculous.  Their approach to it may or may not be historically-accurate, but it feels close enough.  Since the Story isn't *too* far out, you can go along with it easily.  The Film really has fun with the 1960s aesthetic, giving you everything from tye-tye to Hippies to topical trends.  It is a fine line between having fun with this and letting it overtake the Film.  They manage to ride that line pretty well, giving you the best of both worlds.  It's all good, so take a look...
Good, solid Film that has fun with the Era it is set in.  No real complaints per se.
